Hi, I'm Kate.
Hi, I'm Kate.
Nice to meet you!
I’m a mama, a wife and a Wiltshire based photographer. I’m an open book and wear my heart on my sleeve. I believe in soul mates and love at first sight. I’m a hopeless romantic (can you tell?!) and a real foodie. My favourite pizza is bacon and banana. Yes, you read that right. Don’t knock it til you try it.
I’m a creative type and like nothing more than crafting and creating art with my daughter. As someone who spent a lot of time making things for my own weddings I know just how many hours you’ll have spent lovingly crafting everything for your day, from place names to confetti and everything in between. I make a point of capturing all those little handmade and sentimental details for you.
For years I worked in the hair and makeup industry and that’s where I discovered my love of weddings. And when I say love, I mean I LOVE weddings. I love people, talking to them and finding out their story. Which is why I became a photographer, whether it’s a wedding, newborn or maternity shoot I’m in my element. Chatting you to, making you feel at ease and capturing some incredible moments for you.
People often ask me what type of photographer I am. I like to ask if they want the long or the short answer.
The short answer is, nice and simple, “I’m a portrait photographer”.
The long answer. I love to capture connection. I want to show you just how beautiful you are. I want to show the love that people have for each other.
Being invited into someone’s space, being able to see how they genuinely are together, is an absolute privilege. Whether it’s a serene newborn shoot, a wonderfully chaotic family shoot or a romantic elopement, I am there to capture your connection.
You might hate having your photo taken and worry you’ll feel awkward. Don’t panic, you’re not alone, everyone tells me they feel the same. I get it. Which is why I take pride in putting people at ease. At giving you gentle prompts that will create genuine moments. My speciality is directing even the most uncomfortable and camera shy people, making them feel great and they all end up loving their photos!
I was the person with a camera. My friends always used to joke that I’d be on a night out with my camera in one hand and a drink in the other! I liked to think of myself as the memory keeper, the one taking the photos that we’d all look back on for years to come.
Then life happened. Work, bills, homelife etc. You know how it is! After my carefree teenage years I just stopped using my camera. Then my daughter came along. She’s amazing. Beautiful, cute, hilarious. I couldn’t resist taking some (ok, hundreds) of photos of her.
I was gifted a “proper” camera and began taking even more photos of her. My friends asked me to take photos of their children, then friends of friends asked me and then people who I’d never even met before started asking me. It all snowballed and now, a few years down the line, I’m a full time photographer. I have to pinch myself sometimes. It’s amazing, I love my job so much and I love that I can spend my days being creative.
